Aili & Orson target screen addiction and digital overload on new single 'Keitai'

Posted on 06 Nov 2026

Belgian-Japanese duo Aili & Orson return with “Keitai”, an infectious new single blending European leftfield electronics with nostalgic Japanese City Pop influences.

Japanese for “mobile phone”, “Keitai” explores our ever-growing dependence on smartphones and how constant screen time distracts us from genuine human connection. With tongue-in-cheek charm, the track turns this modern-day frustration into a vibrant, irresistible groove.

Warm orchestral synths and quirky, video game-inspired drum machines meet Aili’s melancholic yet energetic vocals, creating a playful yet layered pop track that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly contemporary.

The release is accompanied by an avant-garde music video set in a surreal, dystopian sushi restaurant, where smartphones are fried, earbuds are chopped up as ingredients and glowing screens are served on the counter. A psychedelic visual take on digital overstimulation and mass consumption, the video sees Aili & Orson drift through an abstract digital world, surrendering to the musical flow.

“Keitai” is the second single from Aili & Orson’s upcoming album on Eskimo Recordings, due early 2027.
